Blake Angove, A.C.S.W.
brings over 21 years of postgraduate experience in working with individuals, couples and groups dealing with depression, anxiety, addictions, relationship issues, sexual dysfunctions and 12 step recovery issues.
He received his Bachelor's degree from Michigan State University in 1977 and his Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University in 1981. For many years he worked as a clinician, Director of Social Work, and Program Director for an area psychiatric and dual-diagnosis hospital. From 1993 until December, 2002 he worked at Henry Ford Health Systems-Behavioral Health providing psychotherapy, psychoeducation and counseling to individuals and couples. He has extensive experience in group therapy running such groups as depression management, anger management, work issues, and dual diagnosis recovery. He is former secretary of the Michigan Group Psychotherapy Society
Recent interests and training are cognitive/behavioral and solution-focused therapy. He has trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy with the Beck Institute, and is the facilitator for the Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life workshop at the Relationship Institute.
Flexible and versatile, Blake Angove is comfortable working with a wide variety of issues blocking individuals and couples from growth and happiness.
