Erika London Bocknek, MA, MFT
Erika joins the Relationship Institute from Connecticut where she worked as a therapist for individuals, couples, and families in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Erika worked with clients in enhancing relationships, resolving family conflict, reaching recovery from substance abuse and psychological distress, and coping with difficult lifecycle events.
Erika holds a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Connecticut and is currently working towards her Doctoral Degree in Child Development at Michigan State University with an emphasis on the parent-child relationship. Erika is a certified PREPARE/ENRICH counselor, providing compatibility testing and counseling for premarital and marital couples. Also, she is trained in Building Relationships, a curriculum to teach teenagers to choose and build healthy relationships.
Erika’s approach to therapy is holistic and strength-based. Her goal is to empower her clients in their lives and relationships. She specializes in work with couples who are cohabiting and/or premarital; individuals and couples who are parenting; families who are divorced and/or blended; adolescents and their families; and individuals, couples, and families seeking recovery from eating disorders, substance abuse, and trauma.
Erika runs the Mothers - Daughters Group at the Relationship Institute.
